Nearly a thousand years ago, Japan was defended by a group of people possessing the ultimate martial arts style. It gave them powers that could be considered nothing but preternatural and god-like.

Fearing for the safety of Japan should their abilities ever be used for evil, the practictioners split the school into three.

In late 19^th century Japan, an outside threat has arisen which will require the three schools rejoin.. But it seems that one of them has been lost..
